Andreas Scholl

On Beauty and Truth in Music

Andreas Scholl
  • 6 October 2012
  • 14.00 - 16.00
  • Kleine Zaal, Concertgebouw Amsterdam

With his famously strong and clear voice and his exceptional vocal range, countertenor Andreas Scholl performs the great works of the Baroque and Renaissance in a truly unique way. At the Nexus Symposium, he speaks of beauty and truth in music. For what is it that makes a musical performance truthful? Where in music does beauty reside, and how do you evoke it as a performing musician? Scholl is accompanied by members of the Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, directed by Jan Willem de Vriend.
