Ab Klink is a Christian Democratic politician with the Dutch CDA. He studied sociology and earned a PhD in law. Klink was Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport in the Netherlands between 2007 and 2010 under Jan Peter Balkenende. Previously, he worked at the CDA Scientific Institute and from 2003 onwards held a seat in the House of Lords. In 2010, he left the CDA group in parliament due to formation negotiations with right-wing populist party PVV. He then became a policy advisor on healthcare and a Professor of Healthcare, Labour and Political Direction at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.
