Frank Furedi is hoogleraar sociologie aan de universiteit van Kent. Hij is een veelgevraagd commentator in de internationale schrijvende pers en voor radio en tv.

Furedi werd vooral bekend met zijn Where Have All the Intellectuals Gone? Confronting Twenty-First Century's Philistinism (tweede druk 2006). Ook schreef hij werken als Therapy Culture (2003) en Politics of Fear (2005). Zijn meest recente werk is Wasted: Why Education Isn't Educating (2009).
