'Occidentalism. The West in the Eyes of its Enemies'

About

The word Occidentalism stands for an image of the west through the eyes of its enemies. In the eyes of Edward Said, Orientalism is a negative depiction of Arabs and others in the Orient. An element of Occidentalism is the rejection of corrupt, pernicious cities in the West. Another element is the religious rejection of idolatry in the West, an element that relates to political Islam. According to ideologists of political Islam, the true God is replaced in the States by the idol materialism. This spurs on supporters. Through action, Osama bin Laden worked on a revolution for the subjected. Occidentalism is an effective element used by Bin Laden. In revolutionary situations within Islamic countries, a type of political Islam combined with a powerful Occidentalistic image can play a major role.
