![]() Nick Bostrom is Director of the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University and Professor in the Faculty of Philosophy. He previously taught at Yale. His writings have been translated into 19 different languages, and reprinted in numerous anthologies and textbooks. Bostrom has a background in physics, computational neuroscience, and mathematical logic as well as philosophy. His current research centers on big picture questions for humanity, with foci on issues in the foundations of probability theory, scientific methodology and rationality, human enhancement, global catastrophic risks, moral philosophy, and consequences of future technology. In 2009, he was given the inaugural Eugene R.
