is the former Dutch ambassador to Rumania (December 1987 - May 1993) and founder of The Rumanian Institute for Recent History. Stork has now retired and divides his time between Cape Town and Amsterdam. He is a member of the board at NIZA, the Dutch Institute for Southern Africa. In 2000 he set up the Rumanian Institute for Recent History (IRIR).
