He is both a passionate advocate of the European Islam and a fierce supporter of breaking the taboo of the dangers of Islamism and orthodox Islam. Political Islam and the New World Disorder (1998, revised 2002) and, in 2001, Islam between Culture and Politics. Tibi’s latest book is Political Islam, World Politics and Europe (2008). In Nexus 50 he writes on Islamic humanism.
