He studied Spanish and Latin American literature, as well as literary translation, in Mexico, before studying Intellectual European History in Toronto, Canada. Mallard made the films Nageurs (1997), l'Origine de la tendresse, l'Adoption and Évidences (2004). He also wrote two novels, Evocación de Matthias Stimmberg (1995) and Recels (2009), in which he experiments with the genres of novel and essay. [041209]
