Abstract:

 

An analysis of NATO’s current status: the end of the great alliance. The relationship between the US and Europe in the context of the Bosnian and Kosovo crisis: hubris and impotence. There are currently contrasts between the US and Europe when it comes to a view of historic events of the twentieth century. The war in Iraq, which continues to burden the relationship between Europe and the States. However, both parties still need one another as allies, even though the necessity is not as clear as it was during the Cold War.
